Ophelia

For the summer issue of TK (Tasting Kitchen) magazine I was assigned to do the photography for a story about a recently opened bar in Hong Kong called Ophelia. In addition to having some extraordinary interior design the venue has the added attraction of having half a dozen female performers arrive each night, all dressed in traditional Chinese dresses, to entertain guests. Their performances are quite simple in which they mainly go through a series of poses at several stations around the bar. The first is near the entrance where you can find three of the performers lounging in front of two peacocks, the second is at the bar where you can view two ladies laying on a what appears to be opium style beds mounted to the wall above the liquor, and the third is in giant birdcage in the back room. It’s a beautifully decorated place and well worth a visit.
